About Amish Oak in Texas

Amish Oak in Texas. LLC is owned by Robert and Kristi Trimble, both native Texans. Robert and Kristi spent time in Pennsylvania and, while there, fell in love with the quality and beauty of the Amish furniture, as well as the fact that every item was handcrafted. At first they began furnishing their own home with items and then, upon returning to Texas, Robert felt God's leading to bring the Amish furniture to other Texans. As he traveled back to Pennsylvania to search for quality items, he learned more about the particular familes that he visited as well as the Amish community. Robert continues to bring back stories and facts about the handcrafted furniture and has thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Amish folks. In December 2004, they purchased a home just outside of Seguin, Texas, and on December 13th, construction began on the store that became Amish Oak in Texas. Robert and Kristi have determined that all items sold in their store will be handcrafted items, adding quality and beauty to our home and the homes of others. Amish items that are purchased have stories, and it is part of their enjoyment to share that story with buyers.

The Amish Oak in Texas store officially opened February 19th, 2005. In February 2007, we added 1000 square feet to our store to house more high quality Amish furniture. Due to customer response and to make our store more accessible, we moved to a new location in New Braunfels, Texas this October. Now we have 10,000 sq feet of Amish Furniture! About the Amish

The Amish are a people that pass down their crafting from generation to generation. Entire families are usually involved in building. Some Amish use building techniques that do not involve technology such as power tools. Others use limited means of technology. Regardless, one common attribute of these Amish folk is the care and precision they use to build their crafts and furniture. Definitely not the manufactured items you find in most furniture stores! You will not be disappointed in the quality, nor in the "story" behind each piece. For instance, rustic rockers are signed by the builders, and these items are totally handcrafted. Amish furniture and crafts are definitely worth the investment!
