The Amish are a people that pass down their crafting from generation to generation. Entire families are usually involved in building. Some Amish use building techniques that do not involve technology such as power tools. Others use limited means of technology. Regardless, one common attribute of these Amish folk is the care and precision they use to build their handmade crafts and furniture. Definitely not the manufactured items you find in most furniture stores!

You will not be disappointed in the quality, nor in the “story” behind each piece. For instance, rustic rockers are signed by the builders, and these items are totally handcrafted. Amish craftsmanship equals heirloom quality and Amish builders use time-honored techniques that they back up with a lifetime manufacturer’s warranty. Amish furniture and crafts are definitely worth the investment!

Amish Oak in Texas was founded by Robert and Kristi Trimble, both native Texans. Robert and Kristi spent time in Pennsylvania and, while there, fell in love with the quality and beauty of the Amish furniture, as well as the fact that every item was carefully handcrafted. At first they began furnishing their own home with items. Upon returning to Texas, Robert felt God’s leading to bring American-made Amish furniture to other Texans. As he traveled back to Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Ohio to search for quality items, he learned more about the particular families that he visited as well as the Amish community in general.

In December 2004, they purchased a home just outside of Seguin, Texas, and on December 13, 2004, construction began on the first store location of Amish Oak in Texas (in Seguin), which officially opened February 19, 2005.

In October 2007, to better serve a growing customer base, Amish Oak in Texas moved to a new, larger facility in New Braunfels, Texas, and was able to display even more beautiful, handmade furniture selections. Amish Oak in Texas continued to grow and in March 2010, Ernie Blackmon, former owner of Carpet World, joined the Amish Oak in Texas as co-owner. Robert and Ernie were able to open a second location in San Antonio in May 2010. A new location in Waco will open soon in early 2016. All locations display a large amount of high-quality, made-in-the-USA Amish furniture.
